I am a fully trained freelance stone mason and stone carver with my own well-equipped workshop in Castle Cary, Somerset. With over ten years experience of both traditional and modern working methods I am as comfortable at the banker as I am on site.

My experience covers architectural stone carving and restoration projects in the UK such as Lupton’s Tower, Eton College, Windsor, conservation work in Aphrodisias in Turkey and the replacement of capitals at Stowe House in Buckingham. I am as passionate about producing the highest quality, hand-crafted stonework for the conservation and restoration of historic buildings as I am delivering contemporary projects and bespoke pieces.

Whilst on site I am skilled at taking the detail of deteriorated stonework and developing geometrically accurate moulds for replication in my workshop. I can therefore either supply the replacement stonework or supply-and-fix it for end-to-end execution thus maintaining ease of communication and one point of reference for my clients.

With an excellent working knowledge of architectural styles, geometry, classical orders and proportion I am able to undertake smaller site based projects as well as project-manage larger and more diverse projects through my workshop.
